In 2010, Wurlitzer introduced the Classic 2000 – Vinyl in response to the renewed vinyl boom. The goal was to offer a single jukebox with a real 200-record changer that was technically and sonically top-class.

However, the model did not become a commercial success – largely due to the lack of interest from its then owner Gibson, better known for guitars, who did not sufficiently support the product with marketing or investment. The box itself is beautifully designed, and the 200-disc changer proved robust and reliable. The only weak point was the title strip, which was taken unchanged from CD jukeboxes and felt somewhat out of place beside the otherwise high-quality construction. Only 25 of these boxes were ever built, making it a rare collector’s item.
